Direction in the Spring of Quarantine

This tulip tree blooms twice yearly. A drive into rural Oregon this time of year shows heritage tulip trees the size of barns, clusters of big trees laden with fist-sized flowers. No scent, quick growing and with a tendency to brittle, short-lived branches.
